I forgive vandals in Devizes Vandals destroyed an outdoor baptismal pool and set fire to a protective canopy outside St James Church in Devizes on Saturday night.

But the mother of the two boys who were baptised on Sunday says she bears no malice towards the vandals.

Pray for the Nation

Dear Friends,

I am sure you like me have been shocked and sickened at the events that have unfolded on the streets of our cities over this last week. To see the rioting, looting and the way in which people have destroyed their communities, the homes of neighbours, businesses of friends should trouble all of us.

As part of our response to this situation, I would like to invite you to join me for an hour of prayer at St James' this Friday (12th) at 6pm.  We will use this time to pray and cry out to the Lord, to seek His healing, reconcilation and guidance; to pray for our young people, those who have lost homes, businesses and those charged with protecting our streets.

This is not a time for the church to retreat and remain quiet but to rise up and call on the name of the Lord, to stand and seek His face and pray for the healing of our Nation.

If you are unable to join me, please set time aside to prayer specifically for our Nation in these troubled days.

With all good wishes and thanks for our partnership in the Gospel.
