Children and young people are important to St James' and we are committed to discipling them to become mature and confident individuals, within a safe environment, whilst having fun in the process.

Children and Families Worker

One of the aims of our Vision for Mission is engaging with our community which means investing in the local community.
We identified an urgent need - engagement with young people, families, and their children. And so we to appointed a full time Children and Families Worker. This was partly funded by the Diocese Pioneer ministry programme.
This post would resource and network between all the currently functioning church groups working with children and young people. The Children and Familes worker would also develop our links with parents and schools in the parish, particularly our church school, Southbroom Juniors, and act as a resource for churches in the town and the deanery. 
Our aim is to enable children's work for the 0-11s, disciple 'young teens' (9-11s), and improve the morale of our children’s workers, as well as work with other churches and agencies in Devizes to support families in need. Most importantly, we want to share the love of Christ with children and their families and enable them to become part of the various groups within our church.
